Marma therapy is an ancient ayurvedic practice that promotes the healing of the body, mind and consciousness. By properly treating the 107 marma points, a practitioner can normalize the flow of prana through the subtle channels (nadi) that connect to the points.
Marma is a Sanskrit word meaning hidden or secret. Amarma point is a juncture on the body where two or more types of tissue meet, such as muscles, veins, ligaments, bones or joints.
Although Marma points are much more than a casual connection of tissue and fluids, they are points of the vital life force. Knowledge of Marma allows the practitioner to influence the flow of prana through both the gross and subtle bodies for the purposes of restoring health and peace of mind.
